Big Phony（Bobby Choy），韩裔美籍独立创作歌手，真挚的创作与音乐才能浑然天生，略带沙哑的声线和纸袋人形象是他的标识；穿梭于 LA、纽约，和首尔等城市之间，连续两年获美国 SXSW 南方音乐节演出邀请。 如果你喜欢 Elliott Smith、Bright Eyes，或是 Death Cab For Cutie，那你更不会错过他的声音。 从小在纽约长大，Big Phony 14 岁时举家迁移至洛杉矶；为了就读知名的音乐艺术演艺学校（School of Performing Arts and Music and Art，培育了 Al Pacino、Adrien Brody、Bela Fleck 等无数传奇人物），他很早便开始独立生活，一个人留在纽约的小公寓里，他将时间都奉献给了创作。
 大学毕业后 Big Phony 搬到与家人同在的洛杉矶，展开一名创作歌手的寻梦之旅。很快地、透过他的作品和演出，Big Phony 开始受到乐迷欢迎；他在 2006 年回到纽约，频繁地往返两座城市，也为他带来了更多的支持者。2011 年他将重心移往韩国，同时也在首尔展开活动。
 随着「Big Phony」达成十年生涯里程碑，久候多时的全新录音室专辑终于发行，这次他将触角扩及亚洲，持续地在音乐路上迈进。 Born Robert Choy, Big Phony is a singer/songwriter born and raised in New York City. Off stage Big Phony is simply known to his friends and family as “Bobby.” At an early age Bobby began secretly practicing his older brother Eddy’s guitar in defiance of warnings that he would surely get his ass kicked if he so much as laid a finger on it. Because of Bobby’s dedication to and success in surpassing his brother’s skill level, mom eventually transferred ownership of that guitar over to Bobby. At the age of 14, with 2 older brothers away at college and grad school, Bobby’s family relocated to Los Angeles, leaving him in New York City so he could attend the legendary School of Performing Arts and Music and Art, which has produced a long list of talent including Al Pacino, Adrian Brody, and Bela Fleck. Living alone at such an early age, Big Phony devoted his time to writing in his New York City apartment. With strong religious conviction, Big Phony left for Boston to attend a Christian college to study to be a pastor. He quickly realized that this was not the path for him and returned his focus to his music. After college, he moved to Los Angeles to be closer with his family. It was in Los Angeles where Big Phony began his pursuit to be a singer-songwriter. He quickly built a devout fan base with his songs and performances. In early 2006 he returned to New York to build that same kind of following and has since been splitting his time between both cities crashing on couches and aerobeds. Big Phony delivers honest lyrics and natural talent. There’s a fragile but controlled quality in his voice, which he attributes to thin apartment walls and easily disgruntled neighbors. Fans of Elliott Smith, Bright Eyes, and Death Cab For Cutie will instinctively gravitate towards Big Phony’s sound. His latest project “Kicking Punching Bags” is set to release early 2010.
