Warp legend Chris Clark was on sparkling sonic-form adding gravitas to the recent Warp Films/Sky Atlantic/ Canal + series, The Last Panthers (notable, also for the Bowie theme song). The best of the OST is now pressed up on limited vinyl and CD for your aural satisfaction. The nineteen cues here will surprise a few followers of Clark ‘The Techno Artist’, as he demonstrates a haunting way with organic instruments (treated piano, plucked and bowed viola, live drums, processed guitar), meshed into fragile arrangements of an “…unsettling, brittle sonic universe that reflected the tragic downward trajectory of the characters lives, with moments of immense enveloping warmth and softness.” A special soundtrack, handsomely packaged, as ever, by the Warp team.
