Fly on the Wall continues AC/DC's descent into cookie-cutter mediocrity, with the leering humor of past glories seeming forced and uninspired, and the music remaining somewhat underdeveloped and directionless. Brian Johnson's vocals are mixed far in the background, which is perhaps appropriate since he's not in very good voice. As with nearly every AC/DC album, there are a few good songs, notably "Shake Your Foundations" and "Sink the Pink" (both of which later showed up on Who Made Who), but overall, Fly on the Wall is the sound of a band desperately trying to revive its career without quite knowing how to recapture the spark that made it great.
