The roots of her music lie in the Seychelles where she spent her early childhood. Bergitta Victor was especially influenced by her uncle - musician Patrick Victor - who over the past decades has made a significant contribution in shaping the music scene of the Indian Ocean islands. In 1993 Patrick was invited to appear with his Seychelles Sound and Dance Group at the prestigious Montreux Jazz Festival.At the age of 11, Bergitta came to Switzerland after the family had lived some time in Tanzania. She discovered a new, dynamic world of music: Jazz, Soul, Rhythm & Blues as well as pop music. Among her favourites were songs by George Michael, Taylor Dayne, Johnny Hates Jazz and T’Pau. Founding a band at her school was a natural progression and soon Bergitta was singing at weddings, birthday celebrations and festivals.
