更多详细资料

Grand Hallway is an orchestral chamber pop band from Seattle, Washington. It was founded in 2005 by singer/songwriter Tomo Nakayama (formerly of Asahi, Jen Wood), guitarist Jeramy Koepping (Voyager One), bassist Erik Numann, and drummer Bob Roberts.

They released their debut album, "Yes Is The Answer" in 2007 in Japan on Sideout Records (home to Bright Eyes, Cursive, Nada Surf, and the Velvet Teen), and self-released in the US. Upon completion of the album, Alina To (also formerly of Asahi) and Jaclyn Shumate joined the band on violins.

Following a tour of Japan with fellow Seattle band Arthur & Yu and Shugo Tokumaru, Grand Hallway released an EP, "We Flew Ephemera" in February, 2008.

Soon after the release of the EP, Roberts and Neumann left Grand Hallway and were replaced by Joel Harmon (also of Jen Wood and Asahi, and Sleepy Eyes of Death) and Kevin Large. Multi-instrumentalist Chris Zasche also joined the band on pedal steel, banjo, mandolin, and piano.

In May of 2008 Grand Hallway performed at the Sasquatch Festival, and in September they entered the studio to record their second full-length, entitled "Promenade." Soon after the album was completed, Shenandoah Davis joined the band on piano and vocals.

In December of 2009, Grand Hallway released "Promenade", and was ranked #2 on NPR's "Best New Discoveries of 2009" list.
